Wednesday — Around the Bend

There’s something about a hiking trail you’ve never walked before. You start out with confidence, but you never really know what waits around the bend. The path might narrow into a steep climb, or you might encounter a fallen tree, loose rocks, or an unexpected stream.

I used to pray that God would go ahead of me and clear the path—removing every obstacle so I could walk without stumbling. But over time, I realized that rather than clearing the trail, He always walks it with us.

The fallen tree remains, but He shows me where to step. The rocks are still loose, but He steadies my climb. The stream flows wide, but He gives me the courage to cross.

God doesn’t erase the difficulties; instead, He transforms the way we walk through them.

And perhaps that is what Wednesday carries: the assurance of His presence.

Monday brought hope. Tuesday invited us to notice the provision already surrounding us. Now, Wednesday reminds us of something just as easy to forget. God doesn’t promise a path without obstacles—He promises we will never walk it alone.

We don’t know what waits around the bend, but we know Who walks beside us.

Every obstacle can become a space to feel His closeness. Every hurdle is a moment for His hand to steady ours. Every unexpected crossing is an invitation to trust that He knows the trail, even when we don’t.

God is with us.

And that changes everything.
